LICH and SUNY Downstate to be discussed at SUNY board meetings Tuesday and Wednesday
Two Brooklyn hospitals, SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Long Island College Hospital (LICH), are on the agenda of the March board meetings of the State University of New York (SUNY), taking place Tuesday, March 18th and Wednesday, March 19th.
SUNY is in the process of selling LICH, located in Cobble Hill, through a reissued Request for Proposals (RFP) process worked out after a year-long legal battle. Final bids are due Wednesday, March 19.
The Academic Medical Centers and Hospitals Committee is scheduled to meet from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday. An open, formal trustees meeting takes place on Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by a public hearing “to receive testimony and statements from concerned individuals about university issues.” The meetings take place in Albany at the State University of New York, SUNY Plaza, 353 Broadway. Meetings will begin on Tuesday on the following schedule.
