Announcing Williamsburg Park: Brooklyn’s Newest Summer Concert Space

The Open Space Alliance, the folks that brought you concerts at the McCarren Park Pool and the Williamsburg waterfront, have just released renderings of what the space could look like for this summer’s concert series. They’ll be transforming the unassuming parking lot on Kent Ave, between North 11th and 12th streets, into a summer concert space that can accommodate more than 5,000 people at a time.

OSA also just announced their first show – Swedish punk band Refused will take the stage on July 18th.

Earlier this month, OSA put out a call for a competition among local designers and architects to see what features for the space the community could come up with. Friday is the last day for submissions, and the winners will be selected next week. In the meantime, here are two more views of what the summer might hold for the new OSA space:
