The death of Bensonhurst shopkeeper Isaac Kadare, whose body was discovered with a head injury on Thursday night in his Amazing 99 cents Deals shop on 86th Street, has been ruled a homicide by the city Medical Examiner’s Office.

“He was both shot in the head and stabbed in the neck,” a spokeswoman for the office told the Brooklyn Daily Eagle on Friday.

Nothing was stolen from the store, police said. While investigators suspected homicide from the beginning, they also probed the possibility that Kadare, 59, might have suffered a heart attack followed by a fall.

Also on Friday, Bensonhurst Councilman David Greenfield and the Sephardic Community Federation offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer.

“My condolences to the family of Isaac Kadare, including his wife and four children,” said Greenfield. “By all accounts, Mr. Kadare was a kind, caring and devoted family man who never hesitated to help those in need.”

According to NBC New York, Kadare, an immigrant from Egypt and a devout Orthodox Jew, had owned the store for 16 years. It was first a furniture store, but he converted it to a 99-cent store after the economic downturn.

Kadare regularly went to services at the Ahaba ve’Ahava Sephardic synagogue on Ocean Parkway, and often attended talks on Jewish religious topics in Flatbush, according the Yeshiva World blog.

When Kadare’s family arrived on the scene after his body was discovered, “The wife looked lost; the little girl was just hysterical, she didn’t know what was happening,’’ a neighbor told the New York Post.
