The Historic Districts Council will conduct a walking tour of Bay Ridge on Saturday, Oct. 20, beginning at 10 a.m. Led by Victoria Hofmo, founder of the Bay Ridge Conservancy, the tour will focus on some of the neighborhood’s preservation priorities, including Christ Church, Public School 102, “Doctor’s Row” and the brownstone block on Senator Street. The conservancy is part of an effort by local activists to nominate some of the neighborhood’s architectural and cultural gems on the State and National Registers of Historic Places and formulate proposals for landmark designations, thereby ensuring that Bay Ridge retains its rich sense of place. The tour will conclude with an informal reception at the Telecommunications High School to continue the discussion about recent preservation efforts. To reserve a space, please call (212) 614-9107. Meeting place will be given.
