Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 317th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1922, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Persistent Wooer of Nurse is Held.”

The article focused on a man being arrested for disorderly conduct for “forcing his attentions” on a Red Cross nurse.

“Miss Coley said she met Roder while they were both overseas,” the Eagle reported. “When they came back to this country she said that Roder tried to renew their acquaintance and that she rebuffed him. A year ago she had him arrested for annoying her, and on his promise not to annoy her again he was let go. Saturday night … the girl called a patrolman, and on her complaint that Roder was annoying her the policeman arrested him.”
