Fontbonne Hall Academy in Bay Ridge has started a new program in which students will attempt to answer the question, “Who is my neighbor?”

The new program, in which juniors at the school will be participating, will include weekly visits to a Brooklyn soup kitchen. Students from Fontbonne, a Catholic high school for girls, will spend time every Friday volunteering at Park Slope Christian Help Inc.

The Park Slope organization provides meals for needy individuals as well as clothing and shelter for mothers and children.

Fontbonne Hall officials said the new “Who is my neighbor?” program is rooted in one of the pillars of the Sisters of St. Joseph, the religious order that founded the school.

The program is designed to be an expression of love for one’s neighbors, officials said.
