ON THIS DAY in 1910, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Wife Clings to Feud Even After Her Death.”

The article focused on a daughter’s account of her parents’ relationship.  She said that their feuds led to the death of her mother.

“In this manner, the notice of the death of Mrs. Thomas Jenks was given to the Eagle to-day by the woman’s daughter,” the Eagle reported. “Simultaneously Miss Jenks told a tale of marital woe, and stated that it was her mother’s dying wish that in the notice be inserted the word ‘unbeloved.’”
