ON THIS DAY in 1923, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Cashier Held Up in Factory Hall, Robbed of $1,350.”

The article focused on bandits stealing more than $1,000 from a company and assaulting a worker.

“In the hallway of the factory in which he is a member of the firm and cashier of the Isaac Rokeach Manufacturing Company … Arthur Schur was held up by two armed men this afternoon and robbed of $1,350,” the Eagle reported.  “He told the police that when he yelled for assistance, one of the bandits rapped him on the head with the butt end of his weapon.”
