So maybe it will be too warm to snow when the city Landmarks Preservation Commission arrives in Sunset Park.

It won’t matter if there’s a cold snap, though.

The rowhouses will look terrific. We know this because we walked up and down the neighborhood’s streets on very cold days when old snow was piled along the curbs.

The agency’s commissioners will be visiting the neighborhood late this month for a good, long look.

Their site tour will help them decide whether to start the process of creating a historic district in Sunset Park.

That’s something a neighborhood group, the Sunset Park Landmarks Committee, has been advocating for.

The group discovered there is substantial homeowner support for landmarking on 15 blocks. We took it upon ourselves to snap fresh photos of these blocks — which we have split into two postings. See related story for the other photos.
