It’s Nicholas Malafis whose name is on this deal.

His dad, George, is the one whose LLCs bought the Eagle Provisions building — see related story — but it’s Nicholas’ name that turns up in Finance Department records for a South Slope development site that was the parking lot for now-closed Aaron’s Fine Ladies Apparel.

Construction crews are now doing prep work at the site, which we identified as 614-618 Fifth Ave. when we wrote previously about Nicholas Malafis’ and Ioannis Glyptis’ 2013 purchase of it through LLCs for $4.25 million.

A seven-story, 17-unit apartment house with seven enclosed parking spaces is planned for 236 17th St., which is the address the city Buildings Department uses for the property.

As for the building that housed Aaron’s Fine Ladies Apparel, which is across the street at 623-629 Fifth Ave., last year it was up for sale for a $14.85 million asking price, as we previously reported.

No sale has been made, unless it happened so recently that the deed hasn’t yet shown up in Finance Department records.

Christopher Duran, an agent at Highline Residential, has put a “Commercial Storefront For Lease” sign up on the property’s vacant corner space.
