ON THIS DAY in 1906, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “How 4 City Officials Sailed Coler’s Yacht.”

The article focused on city politicians traveling by boat to New London.

“There is no man that sails the sea in the neighborhood of New York more conversant with the problems of wind and weather than Joseph F. Clarke, the index clerk in Borough President Coler’s office,” the Eagle reported.

PRATT INSTITUTE’S 126th commencement ceremonies will take place today at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. The graduate ceremony will take place at 10 a.m., with the undergraduate ceremony scheduled for 2 p.m. BAM President Karen Brooks Hopkins will deliver the commencement address at the graduate ceremony, and Holland Cotter will speak to the new graduates.
