NEW YORK — Jet Team Flies Past World Trade Center: The Breitling Jet Team flies in formation over the new Freedom Tower at the World Trade Center in New York City. The team, based in Dijon, France, are embarking on their first-ever American Tour, comprised of nearly 20 air shows across the U.S. and Canada. Made up of seven L-39C Albatros jets that can reach speeds of up to 565 mph, the Breitling Jet Team is the world’s largest professional civilian jet flight team.

SPAIN — Bullfighter Challenges Ranch-Fighting Bull: Spanish bullfighter Julian Lopez “El Juli” performs with an Alcurrucen’s ranch-fighting bull during a bullfight of the San Isidro fair Madrid on Wednesday. San Isidro’s bullfighting fair is one of the most important in the world. Bullfighting is an ancient tradition in Spain.

CUBA — Doctor Holds Young Crocodile: Doctor Hiram Fernandez holds a young Cuban crocodile at a quarantined enclosure at the National Zoo in Havana on Wednesday. Ten young female crocodiles were donated to Cuba by the Skansen Zoo in Stockholm where they were born and will be shortly returned to the Zapata swamp in central Cuba. Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro made a gift of a couple of crocodiles in the 1980s to Soviet cosmonaut Vladimir Shatalov who donated them to the Zoo in Moscow which in turn donated them to Skansen Zoo.

MALAYSIA — BASE Jumping Under Scrutiny: In this 2009 file photo, an unidentified BASE jumper leaps from the height of 300 meters off of Malaysia’s landmark KL Tower, the 421-meter broadcasting tower in Kuala Lumpur. The sport has come under increased scrutiny in 2015 due to the recent deaths of several BASE jumpers.
