Authorities say eight people, including a state politician, have been arrested at a Manhattan demonstration against the proposed U.S. deal with Iran.

NBC New York says Brooklyn Assemblymember Dov Hikind was among protesters arrested Thursday outside the offices of his fellow Democrat, Sen. Chuck Schumer. They received summonses for disorderly conduct.

Under the deal, the U.S. would agree to lift economic sanctions against Iran in return for measures to prevent the country from building nuclear weapons.
