Free showing of ‘The Lego Movie’ in McKinley Park

McKinley Park in Dyker Heights will become an outdoor movie theater allowing families to enjoy a film under the stars on Saturday night.

Councilmember Vincent Gentile and the Neighborhood Improvement Association, a non-profit  community service organization, are co-sponsoring “Movie Night in McKinley Park” on July 25. “The Lego Movie” will be shown at approximately 8 p.m.

McKinley Park is located on Fort Hamilton Parkway and Bay Ridge Parkway (75th Street) in Dyker Heights.

The fun will begin before the movie is shown, according to Gentile, who said thepark will also be filed with activities for kids like games and face-painting. 

Gentile said that he has worked with NIA officials before to bring family oriented events to local parks.

“I am pleased to team up with NIA Community Services Network once again for yet another family friendly event that will hopefully be enjoyed by many in the community,” said Gentile (Bay Ridge-Dyker Heights-Bensonhurst).

The event begins at 6 p.m. and will run through the end of “The Lego Movie” at approximately 9:45 p.m.
