Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 205th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1920 the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Swim at Coney Will Cost $2, Under New Hylan Ordinance.”

The article focused on a Bath House Ordinance signed by the mayor to charge more money to swim at Coney Island on Sundays and holidays.

“On days other than Sunday and holidays, the price will be 50 cents for two hours and 25 cents for every additional hour,” the Eagle reported. “… [it will] make more money than ever before in the history of the Island.”
