UKRAINE — Citizens Protest Parliament Amendment: Protesters clash with police after a vote to give greater powers to the east, outside the Parliament, in Kiev on Monday. The parliament has given preliminary approval to a controversial constitutional amendment that would provide greater powers to separatist regions in the east. Hundreds of people gathered in front of the parliament to protest against the amendment.

PAKISTAN — Polio Workers Demand Pay: Health workers and supporters attend an anti-government rally to protest non-payment of salaries for the last seven months in Peshawar on Monday. Thousands of polio eradication workers have refused to participate in upcoming vaccination campaigns until the payment of their outstanding wages. The placard held in the air reads “justice.”
