Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 159th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1937, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Gives Self Up In Paint Fraud.”

The article focused on the head of a varnish factory in Brooklyn admitting his part in a grand larceny and conspiracy case over $165,000.

“…the alleged frauds were committed by discounting orders for paint, never delivered to the municipality and converting the municipal checks issued in payment to the personal uses of the defendants,” the Eagle reported.
