Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 13th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1936, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Attorney Kills His Opponent, Fires at Judge.”

The article focused on a disgruntled lawyer who opened fire in Chicago’s Circuit Court, killing one.

“Kinney fell dead beside the judge’s bench at the first shot,” the Eagle reported. “Keough fired three more shots before one of the attorneys in the crowded courtroom knocked him out with a blow to the jaw.”
