As the famed actor Jack Nicholson once said, “Beer, it’s the best damn drink in the world.”

And beer, and lots of it, will be available for Brooklynites to imbibe this Saturday at the third annual Blocktoberfest.

Blocktoberfest is an annual gathering organized by the New York City Brewers Guild that brings together dozens of breweries to showcase their rarest limited-edition brews.

The event is not only an opportunity for beer connoisseurs to enjoy delicious refreshing beverages; it also serves as a forum and gathering place for individuals from breweries to come together and share their mutual love and appreciation for beer.

“These are all people who have day jobs that are coming together for their mutual love of beer,” Brooklyn Brewery Senior Marketing Coordinator Kaitie Lynch told the Brooklyn Eagle.

The past two editions of Blocktoberfest took place in Clinton Hill near the former KelSo brewery, but this year’s event will due in part to an increase in breweries participating be held in East Williamsburg at the Well.

“The NYC beer scene is growing tremendously, and we had so many breweries wanting to take part this year that we decided to move the event to The Well, which has more built-in resources,” Lynch told the Eagle.

The Well’s resources include not only 60 beers on tap and more than 100 bottled beers, but also a quarter-acre backyard and a taco truck. There will also be live music and outdoor games.

The event will feature 26 New York City breweries, including eight from Brooklyn.

Lynch told the Eagle that she is most excited about the borough’s newest brewery, Kings County Brewers Collective.

Blocktoberfest will be on Saturday from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Well (272 Meserole St.) in East Williamsburg. Tickets range from $10 to $30. General admission for non-drinkers is $10, general admission plus five 4-ounce samples of beer is $18 and general admission plus five 12-ounce beers is $30.
