Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 110th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1930, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Say Fever Machine Kills Disease Germs.”

The article focused on the creation of a machine that could cause fever in patients in order to fight disease.

“Out of these investigations has come the discovery that fever is a curative agent and not a destructive agent: that it is a mechanism which the body uses to kill bacteria that cause trouble,” the Eagle reported.
