Dignitaries, elected officials gather to support Dan Donovan in Bay Ridge
A distinguished group of elected officials and community leaders recently came together at Trace restaurant in Bay Ridge for a well-attended fundraising event in support of U.S. Rep. Dan Donovan, who represents the people of 11th Congressional District of New York City. The former Staten Island district attorney now serves on the Committee of Homeland Security and its Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Donovan was named chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Emergency Preparedness, Response & Communication. In his short term as a Congressman, Donovan has worked to pass the Zadroga Act for the continuing care of the 9/11 responders who are suffering illnesses as a result of their service.
“I’m so thankful to everyone who came out to support me at this fantastic event in Bay Ridge,” said Donovan. “We are at a pivotal time in our nation’s history, and we need leaders in Washington who will work to get America back on the right track, jumpstart our economy and protect our nation from terrorism. All of the generous support I received at this event will allow me to get my message out of how we’re working to improve the lives of the people of South Brooklyn. Their generous support is critical to our success.”
