Happy ending for three of Brooklyn’s discarded suitcase kittens
Dmitry, Inessa and Ilyo — three of the seven kittens rescued by the NYPD in Williamsburg after being discarded in a suitcase – have been adopted, the ASPCA said on Monday.
The kittens are three months old now, and have spent weeks recovering from their ordeal. (Two of them died, leaving just five.) They were recently spayed or neutered and placed up for adoption.
The abused felines were brought to the ASPCA Animal Hospital in March by Officer Nicole Piridis and Officer Goris of the 90th Precinct. On Saturday, Officer Piridis was reunited with Dmitry, the fluffy gray kitten she fell in love with during the rescue. Piridis is going to rename Dmitry “Apollo,” according to the ASPCA.
