Nothing is so beautiful as Spring.

If we can’t come up with a way to put this Gerard Manley Hopkins line in a story at least once a year, we’re falling down on the job.

The luxuriant lilacs and terrific tulips that are flowering forth in Windsor Terrace are compelling reasons to evoke Hopkins’ fine sonnet.

The other day, we went walking around the oh-so-fine neighborhood, cataloging its architectural eye candy and found flora at every turn.

We were particularly pleased to see the very first irises we’ve spotted in Brooklyn this year that were actually coming out of the ground and not on display in a florist’s window.

Our compliments to the neighborhood’s gardeners.
