Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 197th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1913, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Republican State Convention Sept. 23.”

The article focused on the offices of chief judge and associate judge of the Court of Appeals for Brooklyn opening up.

“Beside the matter of judiciary candidates, this afternoon the Progressives set about to determine whether they would nominate candidates for Assembly in every district or whether they would put candidates in the field on in districts where they were strong and had a chance to win,” the Eagle reported.
