Church ‘Concerts on the Steps’ series creates unique blends of music styles
First Presbyterian Church’s popular Concerts on the Steps series is underway. Featuring the Podd Brothers and the church choir, these bi-weekly concerts rev up on the steps of the church on Henry Street near Clark Street.
The first concert was on July 14; the next, on July 28, will feature The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn, an early jazz, swing and blues band.
Performing on Aug.11 are The FPC Choir (and band), composed of singers, instrumentalists and featured soloists who elevate worship services at First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn every Sunday morning. Blending gospel, jazz, funk, Broadway, and traditional worship genres, this ensemble connects members spanning a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and ages.
