3 new Target stores to open in NYC, including 1 in Downtown Brooklyn
Target, the nation’s second largest retailer behind Wal-Mart, has announced plans to open three new stores in New York City, with one of them in Brooklyn. The first of the new, smaller Target stores will open Oct. 5 in Tribeca at 255 Greenwich St. The second will open in late fall at 445 Gold St. in Downtown Brooklyn and the third will open sometime in 2018 at 500 East 14th St. in the East Village.
Target opened its first store in Roseville, Minnesota in 1962, and currently has 1795 stores across the country.
According to a report from ABC 7, a spokesperson for Target said the company is rolling out a new flexible format, which allows it to open stores in non-traditional and smaller-than-normal spaces.
