Search begins for new Brooklyn CB6 district manager following Hammerman resignation
Longtime Community Board 6 District Manager Craig Hammerman has submitted his resignation from his $121,000-a-year position, which will go into effect on Oct. 20, according to Hammerman’s attorney and published accounts.
Now the board is faced with hiring its first new district manager in 27 years. In that position, Hammerman represented the neighborhoods of Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Gowanus, Park Slope and Red Hook.
While board members are appointed by the borough president (half of whom are nominated by their district’s City Council members), the board itself is charged with the responsibility of appointing a district manager and other professional staff, according to the borough president’s website.
