Grigos looks forward to new role at Bay Ridge Credit Union

Anthony Grigos, who has been appointed president and CEO of the Bay Ridge Federal Credit Union, said he is looking forward to his new role at the firm where he served as second in command for four years.

“It is an honor that comes with great responsibility to become president/CEO of Bay Ridge Federal Credit Union. And I am confident of the years that lie ahead for our credit union,” Grigos said in a statement issued April 20, the day the credit union officially announced his promotion.

Grigos thanked outgoing president and CEO Gene Brody and the credit union’s board for their unwavering support and confidence in him.

Brody, who will continue to serve the credit union as board treasurer and chief strategy officer, has worked there for 53 years, including 30 years as the president and CEO.

On the promotion of Grigos, Brody said, “It was time to pass the reins.” It was Brody who recommended that Grigos succeed him in the top post, according to a press release issued by the firm on Thursday.

Grigos had been the credit union’s executive vice president since 2013.

Prior to joining Bay Ridge Federal Credit Union, Grigos had 15 years of experience in the real estate and mortgage industry. Earlier in his career, he rose to vice president at JP Morgan Chase in its Information Technology Division.

His experience has helped grow Bay Ridge Federal Credit Union’s real estate lending programs while refining overall products and member service across all business line, according to company officials, who said his extensive technology background has been instrumental in the development of the credit union’s technology infrastructure to meet today’s demands for member service, operational efficiency and computer security.

Grigos earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Brooklyn College and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Fordham University.

Bay Ridge Federal Credit Union, established in 1934, was located for many years in Bay Ridge. The company moved to 1750 86th St. a few years ago. The credit union also has a second location in Brooklyn at 1609 Avenue Z.
