The kids at Bay Ridge’s P.S. 127 sure have a lot of sweet moves on the dance floor! There were several stars at the school’s 21st Annual Dance Festival, which took place on June 16.

The theme of this year’s festival was Candy Land and many of the students took the idea to heart as they danced in the school yard, according to school officials.

Dance teachers Jaclyn Ramos and Lina Spano organized the festival, giving each class a chance to shine in front of a large and enthusiastic audience of parents that crowded into the school yard behind P.S. 127 at 7805 Seventh Ave.

“Our dance teachers Ms. Jaclyn Ramos and Ms. Lina Spano worked hard to put this sweet treat together,” Guidance Counselor Stefanie Meola told the Brooklyn Eagle via email.

Councilmember Vincent Gentile (D-Bay Ridge-Dyker Heights-Bensonhurst) attended the event and congratulated the students on the job they did.

Principal Agatha Alicando and Assistant Principal Kerry Quaglione were also on hand to cheer for the talented young dancers.

Teachers at P.S. 127 have often come up with lively themes for the school’s dance festivals. Two years ago, the theme was The Wonderful World of Disney.

That year, the festival also paid tribute to the late Walt Disney, the creator of Mickey Mouse and such classic movies as “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Bambi” and “Mary Poppins.”
