“This is an incredibly disturbing incident in which the defendant broke into a woman’s home and committed a horrific assault,” said Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. “I am committed to fighting for justice for all sexual assault victims,” he added.

The 29-year-old woman screamed as Giuebre grabbed her neck and pushed her into her bedroom.

“I am going to kill you,” Giuebre said to the woman as he pointed a gun at her.

The jurors heard evidence during testimony at trial that the woman bit Giuebre on the nose until he bled during a struggle. The 22-year-old man bound and gagged the woman before sexually assaulting her. He then forced her to take a shower.

Blood found at the scene matched Giuebre’s DNA, prosecutor said.

Prosecutors said that before leaving the apartment, Giuebre gathered the sheets and other items that had blood on them, put them in a garbage bag and left the apartment, taking the bag with him. Giuebre demanded the victim’s PIN number and debit card and threatened to kill her if she called the police.

The woman called her boyfriend, who then called the police. Giuebre was arrested a few weeks later and admitted to the crime.

Giuebre was convicted of predatory sexual assault, one count of first-degree sexual abuse, one count of first-degree burglary as a sexually motivated felony, second-degree robbery as a sexually motivated felony and other charges. Brooklyn Court Justice Dena Douglas is expected to sentence Giuebre on Dec. 13. He faces 25 years to life in prison.
