When Hank’s Saloon, a long-beloved dive bar and music venue in Boerum Hill, announced its closing last year, the owner took to Facebook to put out a call to “Keep Hank’s Alive.” Now, those who have been regulars at Hank’s for the past 13 years will be pleased to know that Hank’s is indeed being kept alive.

The Saloon will be moving into the Hill Country Barbecue Market’s Brooklyn location, which has been reconfiguring itself into a 10,000-square-foot, Austin-inspired perma-smorgasbord (newly rebranded Hill Country Food Park) of Texas barbecue, Tex-Mex, fried chicken, doughnuts and more, according to the New York Times.

Hank’s will take over the full second floor, complete with a bar, stage and high-end sound system. The bar will offer snacks and an expanded menu — and according to owner Julie Ipcar, Hank’s classic beer and shot specials aren’t go anywhere.

“We’ll never be able to recreate Hank’s as it is now, nor should we,” Ipcar wrote in a Facebook post. “Hank’s Saloon at 46 Third Ave. will go down in history as being a very special place. But we’re looking forward to bringing our family over to a new corner and continuing to support local community and live music here in Brooklyn.”

Hill Country Food Park is located at 345 Adams St. and is scheduled to reopen its renovated doors this October.
