Police inspect the scene of a tragic accident at the corner of 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue in Bay Ridge that resulted in serious injuries and massive body trauma for a 20-year-old woman. Around 6 p.m. on Thursday, according to police, two vans, one a GMC truck and the other a Dodge, were going through the intersection when one of them, which ran the light, crashed into the other. The second vehicle, in turn, threw the young woman against a fire-alarm box. The young woman, who was bleeding profusely, was taken to Lutheran Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.
