Councilman Vincent Gentile (D-Bay Ridge-Dyker Heights-Bensonhurst) is teaming up with a business group, the 13th Avenue Merchants Association, to host a new event, the 13th Avenue Halloween Walk.

The event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., on 13th Avenue from 85th Street to 67th Street. The 18-block stretch of the avenue will be transformed into a Halloween village with fun for the entire family, Gentile said.

Each block will have a different theme from cowboys, vampires and pirates to Disney, “Star Wars” and “The Wizard of Oz,” according to organizers. There will also be rides and games. Dunkin Donuts will distribute apple cider and donuts, La Bella Marketplace will feature pumpkin painting and the Fire Department of New York will set up a truck for the kids to explore.

For more information, call Sara Steinweiss in Gentile’s office at 718-748-5200.
