The Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church at 84th Street and Ridge Boulevard held its annual Fall Cultural Festival recently, and once again the streets of Ridge Boulevard were filled with revelers – not just Greek-Americans, but all who come together to make Bay Ridge a united neighborhood.

Many traditional foods, including spinach pie and souvlaki, were served during this three-day celebration, as well as a full spit-roasted pig, to the delight of those with huge appetites.

The streets were lined by diners enjoying the tables of food outside along with great music. At the same time, the kids gravitated to carnival games and rides. Inside you could find clothing and souvenirs, along with pastries such as baklava or loukoumades that were freshly baked early in the day and sold to the point where there was simply nothing left to consume.

Evans Kotsis, who organizes the event every year, had nothing but praise for those who contributed their time and effort free of charge to help make the weekend a success.
