Ragamuffin parade luncheon Sept. 16

The committee that organizes the annual Ragamuffin Parade for children will hold a luncheon to honor the grand marshal and the man of the year on Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Bay Ridge Manor, 476 76^th St., at 2 p.m.

Ragamuffin Inc., led by President Colleen Golden, has selected Arlene Figaro, principal of Visitation Academy, the Catholic school for girls at 8902 Ridge Boulevard, as the grand marshal. The Ragamuffin Man of the Year is John Abi-Habib, president and C.E.O. of MSI Net, Inc., a computer servicing firm at 415 86^th St.

The parade, which features thousands of children marching in colorful, homemade costumes, will take place on Third Avenue on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. The parade route runs from 76^th Street to 92^nd Street.
