With music and plenty of good cheer, the spectacular 40-foot balsam fir Christmas tree in Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza was lit with energy-efficient LED lights at a ceremony Thursday night.

Borough President Marty Markowitz joined Adriana Louise of NBC’s “The Voice” and 9-year-old Andrew Green of East New York to throw the switch.

Santa made a special appearance at the lighting party inside Brooklyn Borough Hall festooned with holiday decorations. Young guests received delicious treats and presents and told Santa what they wanted for Christmas.

“I want a special toy,” said Jase Torres, age 8. “It’s called ‘Where’s My Water?’ You put in the marbles and the first one down to the bottom wins.”

Jase’s dad Robert Torres told the Brooklyn Eagle he had a strong suspicion that Santa was going to grant Jase’s wish.

The tree was donated by the Brooklyn Terminal Market Association and installed and decorated by the Department of Parks and Recreation.
