Maimonides raises flag to fight heart disease
February is American Heart Month and Maimonides Medical Center marked the significance of the occasion by flying a special red flag on the flagpole outside the hospital.
The flag-raising ceremony, organized by the Maimonides Heart & Vascular Institute, took place on Feb. 23 outside the hospital at 4802 10th Ave.
The speakers at the program included Kenneth D. Gibbs, president and CEO of Maimonides Medical Center; Dr. Jacob Shani, chairman of Cardiology; Dr. Greg Ribakove, director of Cardiothoracic Surgery; and Dr. Robert Rhee, chief of Vascular Surgery.
