‘Sound attenuating’ hills rising at Brooklyn Bridge Park
Despite setbacks delivered by Mother Nature, construction is moving full speed ahead on building 20-30-foot sound attenuating hills at Brooklyn Bridge Park, according to the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy.
At the Pier 3 “uplands,” crews are preparing for delivery of thousands of tons of fill for the first of the park’s hills. The surrounding area will feature landscaping, lawns and a granite terrace area.
Work on other areas of the still-developing park continues as well. The pier shed on Pier 2 is being refurbished for rain and sun protection; the pier will feature outdoor sports.
