Criminal Bar members engage in collective CLE
The typical continuing legal education class for attorneys consists of a lecture with accompanying Powerpoint slides.
The Kings County Criminal Bar Association shook up the standard format during its CLE program on Thursday. The KCCBA and its members participated in a collective brainstorming session on the topic of trial preparation.
Prior to attending the CLE, members were given a sample fact pattern and case file to review. In the hypothetical case, police officers responded to and investigated a stabbing assault case. The case file is replete with the 911 transcripts, interviews with the victim and emergency room physicians. During the CLE member were asked to discuss the strength and weaknesses of the assault case.
