New York-based author Gemma Burgess will soon release “Brooklyn Girls” (St. Martin’s Griffin; July 2, 2013; Trade Paperback Original), the first novel in a brand new series about five twenty-somethings living in Brooklyn.
Recent graduates Pia, Angie, Julia, Coco and Madeleine share a brownstone in hip, downtown Brooklyn, and together they discover the ups and downs of their “semi-adult” lives.
The first story in the series centers on Pia, who finds herself completely unemployed, unemployable, and broke. With an art history degree and an unfortunate history of inappropriate Facebook photos, she decides to start a food truck business.
