Head of NYC’s Sandy reconstruction steps down
The head of New York City’s Superstorm Sandy reconstruction program has stepped down.
A spokesman for Mayor Bill de Blasio confirmed Thursday that Kathryn Mallon is no longer in charge of the city’s Build It Back program. Spokesman Phil Walzak says Mallon helped the city get back on its feet after Sandy.
Build It Back is funded by $648 million in federal disaster recovery funds passed by Congress.
