St. Francis to host acclaimed author and poet
Brooklyn BookBeat: Programs Highlight Women Entrepreneurs and Poets
Emphasizing the importance of women entrepreneurs, the St. Francis College Center for Entrepreneurship and the Women’s Studies Program are coming together to bring a series of successful women to campus to teach others about overcoming obstacles and building a solid business.
The first speaker will be author Tina Panariello, author of “Polished: Filing Away at Life’s Truths.” Panariello is a nail artist, shop owner and motivational speaker. She will speak at St. Francis College’s Founders Hall (180 Remsen St.) on March 3 at 12:20 p.m.
“Statistics show there are more women entrepreneurs than men in the marketplace,” said Athena Devlin, Co-Director of the Women’s Studies Program. “It’s important to create and support programs like this to emphasize how vital economic independence is to women.”
