Grimm’s ex-girlfriend pleads not guilty in campaign donor scheme
The ex-girlfriend of New York Rep. Michael Grimm has pleaded not guilty to charges she was involved in a campaign straw donor scheme.
Diana Durand of Houston entered the plea through her lawyer on Monday in federal court in Brooklyn.
The plea came a week after Grimm pleaded not guilty to charges he evaded taxes by underreporting the amounts of wages and receipts at a Manhattan restaurant he once co-owned. The Staten Island Republican has vowed to stay in Congress and fight the case.
