Medical marijuana slated for key vote in committee
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A bill that would legalize medical marijuana in New York is slated to be voted on in the state Senate’s Republican-led health committee.
Recent changes to the Senate bill, which narrows the spectrum of diseases marijuana can be prescribed for, has advocates feeling hopeful that the measure will pass on Tuesday.
Sen. Diane Savino, a member of a group of breakaway Democrats that controls the Senate with Republicans, says she has more than enough votes in favor for the bill.
