Poll shows voter suspicion of NY legislators
ALBANY— A Siena College poll of likely New York voters shows 65 percent think most state legislators do what’s best for themselves and their political friends and that it’s no surprise when another one gets indicted.
The telephone poll last week shows 28 percent believe most legislators are honest, hardworking and do what’s best for their constituents, while 7 percent say they don’t know.
Still, 49 percent say they would re-elect their own state senator, while 35 percent would prefer someone else.
