State lawmakers meet China’s new consul general
State lawmakers, including members of the State Legislature’s Brooklyn delegation, welcomed a Chinese diplomat during her first visit to Albany on May 13, showing the foreign dignitary around the capitol and discussing trade and other issues.
Assembly members Peter Abbate, Nicole Malliotakis and Helene Weinstein from Brooklyn, as well as Queens lawmakers Assemblymember David Weprin and state Sen. Toby Stavisky and Bronx Assemblymember Jose Rivera were among the elected officials meeting with Ambassador Zhang Qiyue, the new consul general of the People’s Republic of China.
The foreign dignitary also received acknowledgement from state Sen. Marty Golden during remarks he made on the senate floor.
