Woman killed in Capitol attended school in Brooklyn
Studied at Brooklyn College, Interned at Long Island College Hospital
The Connecticut woman who was shot in Washington D.C. on Thursday after ramming a White House gate has been identified by the New Haven Register as Miriam Carey.
The 34-year-old dental hygienist from Stamford, whose erratic actions briefly shut down the Capitol, once lived in Brooklyn. According to her online resume, Carey, who attended Clara Barton Professional Health High School in Brooklyn, interned as a dental assistant at Long Island College Hospital (LICH) in Cobble Hill in from January to June of 1997.
Carey earned her associates degree in dental hygiene in 2002 at Hostos Community College, then earned bachelors degree in health and nutrition science at Brooklyn College in 2007.
